Liesbet Deprez obtained her Ph.D. in biomedical sciences at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. She joined the reference materials unit of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in 2009 and she is part of the team responsible for the development of clinical reference materials.
This team produced several certified reference materials (CRMs) in close collaboration with IFCC SD committees and working groups including CRMs for the mass concentration of various serum proteins, CRMs for the catalytic activity of enzymes and CRMs for the mass concentration of amyloid β1-42 peptide in cerebrospinal fluid.
